On November 30 last year, Joe was diagnosed with an Anaplastic Astrocytoma brain cancer on his thalamus. Since then, Joe has undergone extensive treatment to abate the growth of the tumor and will continue to have MRI scans bi-monthly. While these treatments have been effective in the short-term, there is no cure for this particular cancer and eventually Joe’s tumor will return. After Joe’s last scan his doctor encouraged him to let go of the averages, to live his life and do what he loves. Joe is now learning how to live with this cancer and is exploring alternative therapies, many of which are not covered by his medical insurance.
On July 28th, we’ll come together at Traver Gallery for a special pop-up exhibition and silent auction event. Our aim is to raise over $70,000 to support Joe. Today, only a portion of Joe’s healthcare is covered by his insurance and all alternative treatments he must pay for out-of-pocket. 100% of the money we raise at this event will go directly to Joe, providing vital support for his treatment and supplementing his income so that he can take the necessary time to recover and recuperate. Our united efforts will strengthen his battle against cancer, aid his recovery from radiation and chemotherapy, and demonstrate just how powerful we are when we come together.
Please join us on Friday, July 28th, 6-10pm, for this special Silent Auction and exhibition event.
